This is our middle son’s bedroom. As I’ve said before I find my inspiration in what each child loves. He is our Star War’s fan, Lego maniac, Minecraft Master, favorite color is RED and dreams of being a Marine Biologist one day. So you will see a bit of it all throughout his room. This is their personal space and want them to enjoy the time they spend in it. TV is mandatory for this kiddo. He is my introvert that needs his downtime. So our compromise since I despise too much TV time was to only be used with Xbox Minecraft games. He will pull out his series of Minecraft cheat books and his little mind goes into creative mode for hours.
OFF TOPIC: He is my child that suffers with extreme anxiety and this is his escape to regroup. It encourages him to read, problem solve, and create + express himself without the struggle of using words. I’ve kept his room VERY SIMPLE to prevent him from feeling anxious.
I knew in this room I wanted to add a feature wall with the black and white strips using Extra White SW 7006 and Tricorn Black SW 6258. Using the Scotch Blue Painter’s Tape and a 12 inch ruler to make perfect width stripes pleasing to the eye. I started with the white first, let it dry, then taped off to paint the black. Pictured below is the drying stage of the white stripes. The other 3 wall are Agreeable Gray SW 7029.
Gray upholster headboard is from Wayfair. Side Table and dresser were ordered from Hess Home Furniture. This lamp, quilt, and sheets are all Homegood finds but I have linked similar ones you could use for this style or theme. The personalized pillow was made by my sweet momma from an Italian Feed Sac. The blue detail markings are original to its design. Its a perfect was to personalize the space. She sewed the sac into a pillow and stenciled his name on the front.
