Keaton Paul (KP) is the youngest of our 3 boys. As for being the “baby” of the family he definitely NOT a baby as he reminds me daily. Having 2 older brothers can make you a pretty tuff guy he says. An action hero + Batman vs Superman 4th birthday party is in full affect this weekend for this guy.
His room was inspired by his most favorite things in this world. He loves every animal he’s ever laid his eyes on and of course all tractor equipment he can get his hands on. The walls are painted in Agreeable Grey SW 7029 and the trim is Extra White SW 7006 both by Sherwin Williams.
His headboard was a DIY project I came up with. I simply bought a 8 ft tall 3/4 ” think piece of plywood and drew the design and cut with a skill saw. Then I layered a 2-3 inch foam batting on top of the plywood. You can purchase this at any fabric store or a Hobby Lobby. Originally I had envisioned a bold print upholstered headboard. I searched and search for the perfect print and couldn’t decide on something I would be happy with for a while. I had this cream hair on hide stuffed away in a closet and thought it would be perfect. I laid it out and it fit perfectly. Plus, they don’t get as dirty as a fabric would. I wrapped the hide over the batting and stapled to the back to hold in place. I hammered silver nail heads for detail to finish the look. If you look closely the are perfectly imperfect. We braced the back of the plywood with 2 x 4’s to keep it up right. The rug is from Pottery Barn and nearly fits over the black concrete floors wall to wall. The navy/white/ yellow theme is mimicked throughout the room to make the eye jump from place to place. SO FUN! The side table was a Target find and no longer carry this style but will link a similar style below. This rectangular modern table lamp is from Destination Lighting.
We placed our little guy closest to the “ALL BOY BATH” for potty training reasons and has worked great for him. He can come and go without waking the big boys.
The floor to ceiling cabinet was designed to place all the living room media and wifi hardware in. Also for extra storage. Its currently being used as a linen closet. Below the cabinets I designed a space for KP to store a few of his favorite things.
